IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPLAINT CHANNELS
THE VALUE OF DOING THINGS RIGHT
A new legislative scenario
The implementation of ethical channels or complaints has become one of the priority issues on the agendas of many organizations around the world. This interest responds to the new legislative scenario that obliges private sector companies and public sector entities to have these communication channels in order to report conduct contrary to the legal system.
Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council, known as the “Whistleblower Protection Directive” imposes -without exception- the obligation to have this type of channels on companies with more than 50 workers. This obligation also applies to all public sector entities with the exception of municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants or with less than 50 workers.
In any case, the design and implementation of these types of channels should not only respond to a legal obligation but to the commitment of organizations to their corporate values, since unethical or irregular conduct may also be reported through these channels. Thus, the whistleblower channel also stands as an element of protection for your company and your workers against dishonest practices that could put your good name and reputation at risk.
At ETTHICO we will not only help you in the design and implementation of the channel that best suits the characteristics and structure of your organization, but we will also collaborate so that together we can build and promote a true corporate ethical culture.
